Early Intervention Programme
Our early intervention programme follows the Down Syndrome learning profile and research and focuses on key development areas to give them key skills in preparation to starting school. This will include areas such as speech sounds, vocabulary, Makaton sign language, pre-reading skills, maths concepts, fine motor skills, social skills. The activities are broken down to a small steps approach to make it achievable for the children; we then build the activity up gradually to achieve further milestones and goals. This intervention is able from birth, giving parents key information and advice on how to best support their child.
School Intervention Programme
Our early intervention programme is designed for those children who are school age. We continue to develop the skills they have learnt during our early intervention programme and support with communication, extending vocabulary, sight word reading and Maths skills. Support staff from the schools are invited to atttend the sessions.

We work closely with the childs school to support with sight word reading, a specialist Maths programme and ensuring the curriculm is differentiated accordingly.

Physiotherapy
During our Physiotherapy sessions we do not follow development milestones by age or timescale. We look at how the child is transitioning into positions and how they sit, crawl and work. For example when a child can sit unaided it is important to ensure they can go from lying to sitting and also sitting to lying to reduce frustration and ensure they are not stuck in a sitting position.
All sessions are delivered by Charlotte from MotionRehab.
