Nursery and School Support
Nursery Support
We are here to support your nursery setting to ensure you have the knowledge to ensure our stars thrives at your setting.
With your parental consent we will make initial contact with the setting and arrange an initial visit. The aim of the visit is to discuss the unique learning profile of our stars and provide information where needed, suggest adaptations the setting may need to make, provide or advise on training which you may find useful and answer any questions which you may have.

If the child attends our early intervention sessions, we will be able to support with areas of developmental focus and activities.

You are welcome to email us at any time should they have any questions.

School Support
We can offer vital training in the Down Syndrome learning profile. This ensure that the staff working with our stars understand how they will learn best, the unique learning profile and how to ensure they thrive in education. For children who attend our intervention programme the training will be tailored to their individual needs, interests and development stage. During this training our school information pack will be issued which includes an school age information booklet, sight word reading books and Maths for Life book. The child’s TA is welcome to attend the intervention session so they can transfer the learning to the school setting. There is no charge to the school for our school support programme.
Children not receiving EHCP funded SLT and attend the Shine21 school intervention programme: we can provide
half termly or termly visits to provide guidance on differentiating the curriculum and support with sight word reading, maths for life and other key areas of development.
Children receiving EHCP funded SLT and those who do not attending the Shine21 school intervention programme: we can provide training on the Down Syndrome Learning profile.
Collaborative working ensures our stars gets sufficient repetition of an activity to be able to achieve it and use that learnt skill in everyday life.
